ROOFTOP THINKING
Whenever the family gets together, we are weirdly compelled to share our great unrealized inventions and ideas. it usually starts with one person saying “I had this idea for a…” And then someone, probably me, would say “Oh, you know what would make that better?”
It’s easy to “plus-up” other people’s ideas. I made a whole corporate career out of it! All you do is whenever you hear and idea, you say “You know what would make that better? If it was solar-powered!” or “If you made it just for women.”
When I was doing this as a career, the easiest way to kill an idea was to say “That’s great! You should keep that idea for yourself and do it outside this company! You’ll make millions!”
