When I was a kid, I would always spend most of of my money on comic books. Even then, my tiny brain could make the calculus: “Candy will make me happy for a minute, but comic books will make me happy forever.”
But later I found that comic books will also hang around my neck forever like an albatross because my still tiny brain thinks that they may be worth something some day.
Oh, well. I’m happy with that calculus.
