COMMUNION WAFERS

First Communion happens when you’re around eight years old. They say that’s when a child hits “the age of reason.” Also, it’s about the age that we start making trouble if you deny us a special treat you’ve been hyping for a solid hour.

You can’t stuff kids into ill fitting shoes and ask them to wait around for no special treat. You’ll have chaos of biblical proportions!

PS. Obleas (Wafers and Cajeta) are special Mexican sweet treat that you can buy in any Latino market. AND the Dutch make something very similar called “stroopwafel.” Great ideas are everywhere!
