My dad LOVES animals. My mom loves animals.

See what I did there? One “LOVES” while the other “loves.” When an animal would come into our family’s orbit, it had just seconds to make it self “loved” by my mom. Because of their nature, cats did not fair well in this test. Neither did geese or amphibians.

Snakes were always welcome as they were potentially medicinal.
