My father was a super-recycler before it was cool. There was no scrap of lumber of length or wire he wouldn’t reuse for something other than its intended purpose.
Old glass doors became makeshift solar heaters and busted extension cords became ad hoc handles for suitcases.
That’s why you didn’t leave your stuff unguarded in the driveway for any length of time. Many of our bikes now live second lives as fancy garden trellises.
