I never made my parents come see me perform. I always liked to give them an easy out.

They had surely heard me practicing at home and… let’s face it, we all knew how it would all go down at the performance.

But sometimes, when th stars aligned, they would come see me do whatever it was I was doing and everyone would be pleasantly surprised.

It was a win-win.
