THE LENT TRAP

Suffice it to say, Lent was a big influence on my many guilt complexes. Any kid who grew up with forty days of forced repentance a year will tell you the same.

I just think that it was never fair that grown-ups at least had Fat Tuesday before Lent to go crazy and be sin-monsters.

On Fat Tuesday, we were in school, eating fish sticks and Apple Brown Betty.
